Strength Struggle Sacrifice

Lori Banes completed “Daddy’s Honor” in 2001 as a tribute to the life of her father, Vietnam Veteran, Harold W. Banes. She dedicates this piece to him for his heroism and strength. Her father fought Agent Orange linked cancer, until it took his life in 1991. The tragic day of September 11, 2001 and those who perished greatly influenced her work. This is her memorial for America’s heroes. The soft pastel drawings, “Strength,” “Struggle,” and “Sacrifice,” collectively make up “Daddy’s Honor.”
